Dear Ones, Hope you have a great weekend. Today is Birthday Party Day here and I need to do a little set up early as I am going to the hospital to see the wound specialist at 8. My leg feels some worse so appreciate and thank you for continued prayers.
Devotions from Judy’s heart
I know I have written on dreams before, but as I was reading an article by Roma Waterman it was a reminder to me to pay attention to my dreams. I have asked the Lord the past months that He would speak to me in my dreams and I have had many. However, I need to keep a pen and pad by my bedside so I can record them, as often in the morning I can’t remember the details or how I felt during it.

We know the Lord speaks through dreams as the Bible is full of examples, and Waterman quotes Job 33:14-16, “For God may speak in one way, or in another, yet man does not perceive it, in a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls upon men, while slumbering on their beds, then He opens the ears of men, and seals their instruction.” Sometimes we receive warnings, confirmation, or direction of what we are to do as God bypasses our waking defenses and speaks to our hearts. When we are awake, we may filter things through our fears and anxieties, so I welcome dreams that come unhindered. Dan McCollam gives three channels through which God communicates with us. The first is an internal communication, an inner voice or sense of knowing, like an emotional impression. He goes on write that external communication comes through worship, preaching, spoken words of others. Thirdly is the mystical stream like dreams, where God speaks directly to our spirits as we are more open when asleep.

Not every dream is prophetic, but we can ask the Lord to help us discern which ones we need to give attention to and what the symbols represent to us, which may be different from others. Who do the people represent to us in our dreams, as it can simply be a quality, or what they reflect back to us? Colors and numbers have meaning, and there are Christian books on dreams that can help us interpret. Of course, most importantly, what is God saying to us and calling to our attention? Sometimes I see progress I am making, as I no longer have my typical response in my dreams. Let us spend some time in quiet listening for the Holy Spirit to reveal what the Lord is seeking to tell us and pay attention.

Challenge for today: Thank the Lord for the many ways He speaks to you, give thought to your dreams and write them down.
Blessings on your weekend and prayers and love, Judy
