Dear Ones,
Hope you had a good weekend! We had a wonderful variety of delicious Norwegian goodies after church yesterday! This
morning Al is going to meet with some men, and I plan to do food prep and go to Aldi’s and Exercise.
Devotions from Judy’s heart
Going through life we all have been wounded, but we have also hurt others, sometimes intentionally but more often unintentionally. In either case, we can try to make things right and to restore what was broken. We have to make the choice if we are willing to make amends depending on the circumstances, which at times may not be good if they were abusive, etc. There may also be times we may need to make restitution if we have taken something and need to pay back. But may we all live with the hope for restoration and that healing would take place.
We can start by recalling what we did to cause the other person to suffer as we try to see it from their perspective. We shouldn’t try to defend or excuse ourselves, but see things from the viewpoint of the one who is hurt and ask for forgiveness so the healing process can begin. The Lord is so full of mercy and pours out His grace to us. We can live this one day at a time. It should just be a regular practice for us to confess our sins and make amends quickly so that we are in tune with the Holy Spirit.
At the end of the day, we can review our day and ask to see it as the Lord sees it. What were the blessings that we can be grateful for? For what things do we need forgiveness? How can we grow and learn from our mistakes? How do we live in peace with ourselves and others? Let us not get discouraged when we blow it, but keep going, keep repenting and confessing, and let the Lord draw us ever closer.
Challenge for today: Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal if you need to seek forgiveness from someone, and be willing to also forgive and seek restoration.
Blessings on your week and prayers and love, Judy
