Dear Ones,
Happy weekend!! May you are enjoying these sunny warm Fall days. Today is party day here and we will be going to get the cake and setting up for the September Birthdays. I plan to also do food prep etc. as we will be gone all day tomorrow.
Devotions from Judy’s heart
We were meant not only to worship the Lord and serve Him but we were also meant to enjoy Him. He is our loving Father who delights in us and we can bask in His love every day. I was reading from Psalm 105 this morning and the Psalmist is giving thanks to the Lord and singing praises to Him, perhaps even dancing. He remembers all the works the Lord has done and is rejoicing. In Verse 4 the writer says, ”Seek the Lord and His strength; seek His presence continually!” That means we don’t say a quick prayer at the start of our day and then not commune with the Lord until we fall into bed at night. Sharing with Him and enjoying His presence is something we can enjoy all throughout our day.
One night I had a dream and I kept coming upon people in my dream that were gazing up into the sky. They had a look of joy and let the beams of sunlight just fall on them. I had been doing that off and on as well even as I still carried on my work. I found it left me with a feeling of lightness and joy and a desire to do it often. At first I was surprised to see others here and there also putting their face to the heavens and I smiled feeling a oneness with them. Their joy was evident and had a look of peace.
The Message translation says, “Keep your eyes open for God, watch for His works be alert for signs of His presence.” If we were seeking His presence continually throughout our day, our lives would be transformed and we would see all the things around us as a work of His hands. The Amplified translation says, “Seek, inquire of and for the Lord, and crave Him and His strength (His might and inflexibility to temptation): seek and require His face and His presence (continually) evermore.” Then we are told to also to move on to think about His miracles and wonders and faithfulness. Let us all enjoy the Lord and seek Him throughout our day.
Challenge for today: Memorize and practice Psalm 105:4.
Blessings on your weekend and prayers and love, Judy
