Dear Ones,
Hope you have a peace-filled day. Al is going to men’s group and there will be a donut waiting for him when he gets back. I plan to bake and we have Bible study today. We had a large group for Bible Study last night at church as we began the study of the Sermon on the Mount.
Devotions from Judy’s heart
Our imaginations are a gift from God. Some people have very vivid imaginations while others often need their imaginations stretched. Children are most likely to use their imaginations well, as they dream of things they see in movies, go to Disneyland, etc. But more importantly, faith for all of us revolves around that which is invisible, and we can by faith visualize what we can not yet see. Paul’s prayer for the Ephesians is for us, too in Eph. 1:18, “I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, in order that you may know the hope to which He has called you, the riches of His glorious inheritance in his holy people.” God wants us to see with the eyes of our hearts who He is and who we really are.

With our imaginations, we see reality and what we will yet experience one day. When we give the Lord our all, that includes our sanctified imagination along with the rest of us. It’s good to gain Bible knowledge and memorize scripture, etc., but there is more to experience in our relationship to the Lord. We come to know Him beyond our intellect, rational minds and what we can see; we are to also embrace faith and what is yet unseen. We are more than left-brained dealing with certainty, for we need the right-brain intuition and spirituality. When we open ourselves to God, we use our imagination to experience grace, His love and power.

Our imaginations are stimulated when we see things of beauty like the Grand Canyon, a sunset over a stilled lake, or a field of flowers blowing in the breeze. It helps us get see what is real, become attuned to the Lord and experience His love. May we develop the joy of a child through the power of our imagination to see the invisible reality of love.

Challenge for today: The next time you are alone in the car visualize the Lord sitting beside you and enjoy His closeness.
Blessings on your day and prayers and love, Judy
