Dear Ones,
Hope you had a wonderful weekend. What gorgeous weather! We were sad to see the Vikings lose yesterday in the last few seconds of the game. EmojiToday I am going to do food prep and go to Aldi’s and my exercise class.
Devotions from Judy’s heart
Sadly, today it is hard to find people of integrity, who say what they mean and practice what they preach. We don’t know who to believe any more or who is exaggerating so that it is no longer truth. But when we have come to know the Lord, we are to let go of lies and falsehood and speak truth. I am reading in Proverbs lately, and Prov. 20:7 & 11 say, “The righteous man walks in his integrity; bless (happy, fortunate enviable) are his children after him… Even a child is known by his acts, whether (or not) what he does is pure and right.” Just like children our actions will reveal our motives and whether what we say is what we really mean and practice.

I was blessed to be brought up in a Christian home and could trust what my parents said. I don’t think it ever entered my mind that they would lie and they taught us it was sinful to lie. If we did transgress and lie, we knew punishment awaited us. It’s tempting for all of us to say what we think others may want to hear, but if it is not the truth, we are not living in integrity. It is sad that today, we are not able to trust the word of candidates running for office as they seem to get a pass for not being held accountable for truth. Where at the people of integrity?

But if we know the Lord we are to be salt and light, as Jesus spoke to the crowd in Matthew 5 in His sermon on the Mount. We are to be salty and not lose our flavor by ignoring truth. We are rather to preserve truth and prevent moral decay and have a positive influence on others. We are to also to be light to bring clarity and illuminate truth by our very lives as we demonstrate to others to live honest lives. More than ever today, the world is observing Christians to know if we are like the One of whom we speak and serve.

Challenge for today: Ask the Lord to help you brightly shine for Him and be salt that has not lost its flavor.
Blessings on your week and prayers and love, Judy
