Dear Ones,
Hope you have a praise filled day. Al is going to Men’s group and later will lead Bible study here. I plan to make egg dishes and lots of food prep and later go down for donuts!
Devotions from Judy’s heart
Recently I was reading Psalm 146, and it is full of praise to the Lord. He is our hope and our salvation and praise to Him expresses our appreciation and thankfulness. When someone does something for us, it seems incomplete when we just accept the gift and go on with our life without giving them thanks. Something is missing! I am sure we have all given to others, sometimes sacrificially, and then are disappointed when we don’t get even a thanks in return. We wonder did they appreciate the gift. But how good to our ears to receive a word of thanks or a note of appreciation from them, for we are not taken for granted and their hearts were touched by the gift received.
How much more does our heart need to praise the Lord, for He has given us everything, life and hope, forgiveness and healing, love and mercy and the list goes on and on.  My heart loves to sing praise to Him when I am alone in the car, I may express many names given Him like Lord of Lords, Savior, Shepherd, King of Kings, Father, Prince of Peace, Almighty One, Master, Protector etc. He is worthy of all praise, and He lifts our eyes upward on the eternal rather than focused on earthly things that will pass away.
What struck me most was verse 3 and 4 when it says, “Do not trust influential people, mortals who cannot help you. When they breathe their last breath, they return to the ground. On that day their plans come to an end.” The Psalmist says our hope is to rest in the Lord who made everything, not in our government or any individual who may be here today and gone tomorrow. As ones who love the Lord, we need to be praying for God to touch our lives, our families, our nation, and for His will to be done.  Let us seek the Lord, call upon Him, worship Him and do intercession. He is our Hope!
Challenge for today: Spend some time in praise and thanksgiving to the Lord, and also prayer for our families and friends and our nation to come back to the Lord.
Blessings on your day and prayers and love, Judy
