Dear Ones,
Hope you are enjoying this day. I got 2 Mexican pies made as we are having company after Bible Study today. I also went down for donuts this morning and Al had men’s group.
Dvotions from Judy’s heart
Do we live in a state of mindfulness or do we just go about our days on autopilot, without much thought? Many live with the monotony of daily work, feeling dry and empty and without awareness that God Has a full life for them to live. How sad!
The Lord would want us to enjoy His presence and to live with a desire for Him, having Him in our thoughts throughout our day. His eye is always on us and it is good for us to live in awareness of His love all of our days on earth. Life is short so we need to make the most of our opportunities to respond to His love for us and then to show that love to others.
One day our lives will be over and we are told in Psalm 90:12, “Teach us to number our days aright, that we may gain wisdom of heart.” In other words, we should live each day as if we were to die today and take our last breath on earth.
With that in mind, we certainly wouldn’t use the majority of our time to store up earthly treasures, but only what was necessary. We wouldn’t be busy accumulating more but giving to those in need.  When Mother Teresa died, she left behind only her prayer book and three saris that she had worn.  She refused the $192,000 award for the Noble Peace Prize and gave it to the poor in India. But think of how many lives were changed by her selflessness and love.
If we knew this was our last day, we would not hang on to resentments for we would want to leave this world with good relationships. Our thoughts would be on things above and sharing Jesus with others so they can one day join us in glory.
I suspect as we become more mindful, the desires of this world would lessen as we seek to draw closer to the Lord. Our selfishness would fade as our passion grows for Him and we would anticipate eternity with Him and our loved ones who have gone before us. The Lord searches for those who seek Him so let us be intentional seekers and ever mindful.
Challenge for today: Do something today with eternity in mind.
Blessings on your day and prayers and love, Judy
