Devotions from Judy’s heart
Isn’t wonderful to know that when we put things in God’s hands, He will take care of it? We don’t have to spend time needlessly worrying but only to listen if we are to be part of the solution in some way. The bottom line is that our burden is lifted because our dependency is on the Lord, not us. A friend recently shared how he had several complex decisions that had to be made. As we know, lake property has many regulations that must be followed, and he was getting stressed out by trying to figure this all out on his own.   He had issues of a rain garden, fire pit, excavation and the property line. These all had different set back rules with additional specific requirements. He asked God to make this complex problem simple. When the DNR person came out at his request, he simply told our friend, “Put all of these details in my hands and it will be just fine.” He had the power and authority and was an answer to the prayer of our friend. Now our friend could just relax.  That’s the way it is for all Christians who commit everything into God’s hands. They can live in hope and have a solid anchor to hold them fast when strong winds blow.  As it says in Heb 6:19 (TLB), “This certain hope of being saved is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls, connecting us with God himself.” We have God’s presence and power to help us with anything that concerns us. A hymn comes to my mind….

“Though the angry surges roll
On my tempest driven soul,
I am peaceful, for I know,
Wildly though the winds may blow,
I’ve an anchor safe and sure,
That can evermore endure.
And it holds, my anchor holds:
Blow your wildest, then, O gale,
On my bark so small and frail;
By His grace I shall not fail,
For my anchor holds, my anchor holds.”

Our burdens belong in God’s hands and when the adverse winds blow, we are held safe and secure.
Challenge for today: Give all your concerns to God and thank Him that you are anchored in Him
Blessings on your day and prayers and love, Judy
