Dear Ones,
Hope you wake to a glorious day ahead of you. I plan to study, do food prep, go to my exercise class and also to a salmon dinner at church and hear more about the mission trip to Alaska. We enjoyed our dinner with Mark’s family yesterday at Poncho Lefties and they were so full of stories of their wonderful week at the lake; fishing was rated at the top!
Devotions from Judy’s heart
Our dependency is not on ourselves but to be in the Lord who is sufficient for everything that touches our lives. His grace is more than sufficient and He wants us to come to Him for help.
Lately as I have been sharing with the Lord even very minor events that are in my day and asking for his help, I am made more aware of His power and presence. Like it says in II Cor 12:9, “But He said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.”
It’s good that we don’t have it all together or our dependency would rest in ourselves; then when things don’t turn out well, we would get discouraged and down on ourselves. But if we bring everything to the Lord we can rejoice when we see Him work and then join together with Him in carrying out His will. Nothing is too small for Him or too great for Him to handle, so why waste our energy doing it on our own when we can work side by side with Him?
Of course, we will have to deal with our flesh for it battles against the spirit and wants to be in control. Even when we know the right thing to do, our flesh will try to talk us out of it and go our own way. If we listen to our own desires, we will miss many blessings that God has for us. But if we allow the Spirit to lead us, we will have peace even if we don’t understand all that He is doing in our lives. We no longer have to figure everything out but to simply be obedient to how He is leading us.
When we open our hearts to the Lord and place our dependency on Him in everything that touches our lives, His power will be seen in our weaknesses.
Challenge for today: Relinquish your dependency on self and place all your dependency on the Lord and get ready for an amazing ride!
Blessings on your day and prayers and love, Judy
