Dear Ones,

Hope you have a restful day. Today is Bible study day here and also Donut Day. I plan to make porkchops smothered with apples and do food prep etc.Devotions from Judy’s heart
Many of us like to accomplish a lot during our day and find it hard to just rest. I was reading from the book Learning How to Rest, and was reminded how important it is to rest if we want a healthy soul that is at peace. The scripture I memorized as a child from Matt. 11:28 is invitation from the Lord for each of us: “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavily burdened and I will give you rest.” Rest doesn’t depend on the right circumstances, but rather where our focus is. Hopefully, it is on Jesus who never hurried, but had peace as He relied on His Father and sought to do His will.

I hope all of us want to enter the rest of God that is available to each of us. That entails relying and trusting in God, not ourselves, and believing His Word. Rest doesn’t mean we are inactive and rest from our work. In the Greek it means to rest in our work, meaning we do whatever He calls us to do. We all need soul rest, which has to do with our mind, will and emotions. He promises to refresh our souls if we choose to come to Him. (Matt.11:28)

Sometimes we feel restless and worried, and we realize how much we need not just to relax, but to trust the Lord with all that concerns us. We are to lean into Him in the midst of it all and to trust, for we have the promise in Isaiah 26:3, “You will keep in perfect and constant peace the one whose mind is steadfast (that is, committed and focused on You—in both inclination and character), because he trusts and takes refuge in you (with hope and confident expectation).”
Let us choose to receive God’s supernatural peace, no matter what is happening in our lives.

Challenge for today: Sit quietly in God’s presence and give Him all that concerns you!
Blessings on your day and prayers and love, Judy
