Dear Ones,

Hope you have a blessed day! Thank you for all the cards and Birthday wishes for Al, He had a great day in Duluth yesterday and perfect weather to be by Lake Superior. We also stopped at the monastery and saw the former Prioress who asked me to pray for her since she also has a leg wound. We ate at Culvers and then Al bought a new Bible at the bookstore and came home very happy over his special day. Today we have friends coming over and I have made Novia Scotia Blueberry Cream cake!Devotions from Judy’s heart
How bold are we to speak of Jesus to others throughout our day? Do we miss opportunities to share Him because we lack boldness and fear of their response? Some today in Muslim countries are being shot and killed for identifying with Jesus, and it costs them their very lives. Jesus should be part of our daily conversation as we acknowledge Him, listen to Him and pray throughout our day.

We can share Jesus in our conversation, but also in actions that express His love. If we open our homes and show hospitality, it is as if we are serving Jesus. He said in Matt.10:40, “Whoever receives you receives me, and whoever receives me receives Him who sent me.” He goes on to say if we just give a child a glass of water, we will be rewarded one day. It is good if we ask the Lord each day who we are to show His love to in some specific way, like an invitation for coffee, sending a card, texting with a scripture verse to bring encouragement or providing for someone in need. The list goes on and on.

We might ask ourselves if we are genuine in our love for the Lord, or are we more concerned about our own comforts. Are we authentic and feel the pain of others, or do we just mouth the words. Another question to ask ourselves is how much time do we spend in the Word and listening to the Lord speak to us? Are we more distracted by our phones, scrolling on them constantly so as not to miss the latest messages. Let us submit our hearts to the Lord in our thoughts and words as well as our actions. Then we can be a blessing to others, and they are very apt to see Jesus in us.

Challenge for today: Pray for your eyes to be open to the needs around you, and ask the Lord how He would have you serve Him by serving them.
