Dear Ones, Hope you have a blessed Holiday weekend! Today I plan to clean the apartment and then we are going to church for lunch as it is a fund raiser for youth going to Czech Republic.
Devotions from Judy’s heart
Don’t we all long to know that our presence matters in the world and that we make a difference? We may not have an important position or feel we wield power, but if our lives are given over to the Lord, they can become powerful for His kingdom…even more powerful than those with expertise. If we have noticed in scripture, God most often uses those who are not rich or powerful in the world’s eyes, but what many consider foolish. I Cor. 1:26-27 (Message) says, “Take a good look, friends, at who you were when you got called into this life. I don’t see many of ‘the brightest and the best’ among you, or many influential, not many from high-society families. Isn’t it obvious that God deliberately chose men and women that the culture overlooks and exploits and abuses, these ‘nobodies’ to expose the hollow pretensions of the ‘somebodies’?” I am blessed every time I read this in scripture. Think that He even used ordinary fishermen who didn’t have degrees!  It helps us realize that the power belongs to God!

The important thing is that we surrender to the Lord and desire to live a life of holiness. The enemy does all he can to get us to compromise and sin. When we do give in and sin, it has a ripple effect and can affect families and whole churches, etc. The more of ourselves we give to Jesus, the less the enemy has a hold on us. Any area we don’t give to Him becomes a battleground for the enemy, whose intention is to destroy us.

Can others see Jesus in us? Often it is the witness of the life of a friend or family member that draws people to the Lord. Our lives matter, and we don’t know who is watching us… will we make a compelling argument for Jesus?

Challenge for today: Ask the Lord to show you any area of your life that you are compromising and give it all to Him, that you may make a difference!
Blessings on your weekend and prayers and love, Judy
