Devotions from Judy’s heart
We are all created by God to be relational, and we need healthy relationships with others if we are going to grow into maturity. Sadly, there is so much loneliness today, as many are only connecting online or on their phones and not having deeply meaningful relationships. There are some that came into the world without nurturing parents, and it becomes more difficult for them as they try to seek connection with others on their own.

God is a relational, and exists in a community of love as three distinct persons; Father, Son and Holy Spirit. God also designed us to commune with Him and to receive from each other. He said it was not good for Adam to be alone, so He created Eve as his helper and for intimacy. He created all of us to connect and flourish emotionally and physically with others.

We can’t live fully alive if we don’t connect first with the Lord who gives us the power to engage, and designed us to give and receive from others. When we choose to live life without the Lord, our relationships may be self-serving and manipulative as a result. Or if we started out in life with a weak connection to parents, we may need help to overcome the obstacles. But the Lord can heal our hearts, giving us the capacity and power to trust and be open for healthy relationships, connecting at a deeper level.

Let us not settle for shallow relationships, but live more fully in relational connection with others. We were meant to have giving and receiving relationships and grow in our capacity to trust God and others.

Challenge for today: Take time to let yourself be known to those closest to you and also seek to love them well.
Blessings on your week and prayers and love, Judy
