Devotions from Judy’s heart
Some people have a huge impact on our lives and even when they are gone they are still part of us. My dad died just before Christmas and there are many ways I feel his presence with me, influencing how I live.  He found great joy in giving to others, without expecting anything in return. He didn’t give out of obligation, but out of joy to meet the needs of others.  It’s been said that the more you give the more you have.  Giving creates more abundance.  As we give from our hearts we are giving of ourselves.  When it is done out of love, both the giver and receiver have more than they started with.  When I write a check to a missionary or someone in need, I often think of my dad and can imagine a smile on his face. He knew the joy of giving and it has touched all of our lives. Today why not give to someone in secret and experience the joy of giving. “Give away your life and you’ll find life given back, but not merely given back  – given back with bonus and blessing. Giving, not getting is the way. Generosity begets generosity.” Luke 9:39 ( message translation)
